Delinquency #1: #WTFSept Photo Challenge
I came out of the gate all revved and ready to go for the #WTFSept photo challenge. My pictures were by no means exciting (or possibly even interesting) but I did them for the first four days of the challenge...
And then Day 5 came along, but I totally forgot about it until Day 6! It was supposed to be "flare". Oops. Maybe it's a good thing I forgot about it because as I lay in bed thinking about what I would have snapped a shot of all I could think of were flared nostrils and nobody needs to see that. You're welcome.
Even though I woke up with the photo challenge on my mind by the end of the day I had totally forgotten again. Day 6 was "bright" which, apparently I am not because I forgot to do it two days in a row!
On Day 7 the challenge was "now playing". Gee, perhaps snapping a shot of Nick and Sophie Tweed-Simmons on stage at the Surrey Mayor's Charity Gala would have satisfied the day's challenge. But no, I still wasn't very "bright" and didn't wanna be the geeky girl in the crowd acting all star struck and taking pictures. Failed again. (Turns out Sophie is very active in supporting children's causes and has helped create Sophie's Place, a centre for children who are suffering abuse, located here in the City of Surrey).
And now here we are at Day 8: "I am _____". I think the only obvious choice for this one is the following...
In an effort to shake my delinquent ways, I am already thinking about Day 9 tomorrow: "on the run". It's perfect because I'm running the Coho Run 14k race tomorrow and I'm super excited!
Delinquency #2: My First Saturday Goofy Training Run
So I was all psyched and inspired after meeting my Goofy Challenge clinic group on Thursday and feeling good about doing my first official long runs. We'll be doing back to back long runs on Saturday and Sunday from now on and today was supposed to be the first one.
Well, did you notice that part about the charity gala above? So my husband and I attended this event and it turned out to be a really great evening. We saw many good friends, had a wonderful meal, drank lots and even danced a little (if you know me at all you know that's a big deal because I just don't dance!) Anyhow, perhaps I enjoyed myself a little too much because I wasn't exactly feeling well this morning. Suffice it to say I wouldn't have made it through 1k let alone the 7k I had planned, so I took one for the team and crawled back into bed. Delinquent again!
I did eventually get up, took some vitamins, chugged some nuun and made it to my chiro appt and then off to my first-ever bodybarre fitness class. It was so much fun but a ballerina I am not! I think I'm really going to enjoy the bodybarre classes because they're a cool mix of ballet-type workouts and traditional core work and strength training. Fun. Our instructor even told us we could wear our best Flashdance inspired workout gear...

Anyhow, I'm delinquent for skipping my run, but I'll make up for it tomorrow at the Coho Run. I signed up kind of last minute but I think this course is going to be truly spectacular. I am so excited to be running such a scenic race. Gotta go make sure the iPod/phone/Garmin's all charged!

Have a great time on the Coho Run and I will look forward to more of your pics!
ReplyDeleteSometimes we fall behind; it's no biggie if we strive to catch back up! Hope your Coho Run went well!
