My own version of runner-shaming...

Did any of you see the article at womensrunning.com today about Runner Shaming?  Oh my gosh, I just about peed my pants laughing.

I guess it all started with the internet craze dog-shaming.com where people post photos of their dogs with notes like these...

I'm not so much a dog person but the pictures on this website still made me giggle.  The ones posted with the Womens Running article were just hilarious.  This one is one of my favourites, maybe because I think the same way...

Since I enjoyed these runner shames so much, I decided to try a few of my own...

Nothing wipes a sweaty face like a sweaty sock!

Bet you never thought of your water belt as a girdle!

It's hard not to look like a boy when you have no boobs
and you wear tight running shirts...

Nothing says "I just ran a half marathon!" like
a burger and fries!

Sad but true and here's the proof from after the BMO Vancouver half marathon...

Do you have any runner shaming you'd like to admit?

PS  The green background seemed so hard to read so I'm going to be doing some blog renovations in the next little while.  Until then I'm going to try out this grey/white template to see how life with a white background is!

  2. That is pretty funny! I'm with you on the dry thing. I actually try to run in my clothes at least twice. I don't feel like I stink them up to much and just lay them out to dry and wear them again. I guess if someone tells me I smell like old butt, I'll reconsider the habit! My favorite after long run/race food is popcorn and hard cider. It's Carbohydrate HEAVEN!

    1. Hmm, maybe next time I'll trade in the McD's and try the alcohol and popcorn thing. I guess I just figure I did something huge and healthy for my body, a little junk food won't hurt. How backwards is that, hey? :o)

  5. Love it! After a half - I eat whatever I want - and usually that means some sort of fast food.

  7. I love this! My favorite comfort food is actually two little hamburgers from McDonald's and a large sweet tea so I support your McDonald's trips after races!

  8. Too funny!! I don't think I could use a dirty sock to wipe my face!! I agree- the fuel belt does slim things down!! I haven't worn my post-baby yet. I need to dig it out!

    McD's is a great post-race treat!
