Not much to report other than we made it safe and sound to Orlando today. We were up at the crack of dawn to head to the Seattle airport and made our way to Chicago. My first flight was kind of lame because of a very grumpy old man who decided that my seat was going to be his and refused to get out forcing me to sit by the window. Not a big deal, I actually prefer the window, but out of principle I was ticked because I thought it was so rude of him to bully me into giving up my aisle seat. If he would have just asked nicely to switch I totally would have. I hate grumpy people.
We had a short layover in sunny Chicago which was also made interesting by one very grumpy woman working at the pizza parlour. 3 out of 6 people in my group got yelled at by her while in line - it made think of how Elaine and Seinfeld must have felt at the soup Nazi's diner...

| Sunny Chicago! |
Our flight ended up being delayed by about 45 minutes but in the end the plane finally arrived and we made our way down to Orlando.

My friend was hoping if I stood in front of this sign it would look like I had Mickey ears but I think it just looks like I have a pair of red circles on my head |
The hotel seems okay and while dinner was good, we're already a bit miffed by the mandatory gratuities that every restaurant seems to charge. I have no problem paying 20% tip, but when the service really doesn't warrant it, you don't get your bread that every other table seems to have gotten and the waitress can't even count out your change properly, it sucks coughing that 20% over. We've decided we'll start sitting at separate tables! Ha ha.

| The dinner was delicious, the service? Not so much... |
Oh well, this is the happiest place on earth, no?
We're now just waiting for our bags to arrive so that we can hit the sack and get some much needed rest. Tomorrow we're going to hit the expo, pick up our packages and do a little shopping. Maybe even hit a Disney park or two!
If you haven't made your way down here yet and are wondering about the weather, it is very warm and very humid. I think all that worrying I did about staying warm before the races was for nothing because I could easily be sitting here in a bikini and be quite comfortable! Hmm, this should make the running interesting!
Grumpy people suck! I have my own grumpy people stories from today, must be something in the water?! Also my mother in law has a great story about sending a letter to Disneyland about how it's NOT the happiest place on earth lol. Regardless I know you'll have a GREAT time!!!
ReplyDeleteOrlando is the place known for its beauty and fun filled vacations. orlando villas
ReplyDeleteBummer about so many grumps on your trip, especially in Chicago! I'm a Chicago girl born and raised--hope the pizza was at least worth it! Chicago deep dish is the BEST pizza in the world IMHO! :)
ReplyDeleteGrumpuses sure can ruin a day! But I know why they're grumpy. They don't get to run 3 amazing races in the Happiest Place on Earth!!! Glad you're there. Buy something extra at the expo for me please. :) Can't wait to read all about your races!!!
