...and I, Nikki Scott (back-of-the-pack runner, new marathoner, lover of fries and mom of two boys) have in common?

| Yes, I purposely picked the silliest photo I could find... |
While I was down in my basement diligently huffing and puffing my way through the speed work that my Beast Coach assigned to me for the day, a most exciting email was delivered to my inbox...
Wait a second, what? That's right! If I understood correctly, I had been selected to become part of Team CEP Canada 2013!
Back when I was in Florida for the Goofy Challenge I was resting in my hotel the day before my half marathon and I saw that CEP was requesting applications for athlete bloggers of all abilities to join Team CEP Canada 2013. Since I'd faithfully used my CEP compression gear throughout my training for Goofy (and was convinced that learning proper recovery was what had gotten me through that gruelling training) I decided to apply.
And well, I guess they liked my story. I am very excited to be one of only a few recreational-level athletes to be invited to the team. When I checked out the official press release, I was instantly humbled by all of the incredible athletes on the roster - marathoners, triathletes, speed skaters, race walkers and decathletes from both Team Canada and the Canadian Olympic team, our national trail running champion, various elite runners and coaches, age group champions, elite triathletes...
...and me.
Yup, way down at the bottom of the list is a name you might recognize...
"Nikki Scott, Super Mom Extraordinaire and Running Addict"
I couldn't be more proud to be included in this group of amazing Canadian athletes. You can see the full roster here.
You might be wondering what is Team CEP Canada 2013 anyway? Officially, the Team is a group of sponsored Olympians, Elites and Weekend Warriors who rock their CEP compression wear from the Olympics to personal bests. (I fall into the "Weekend Warrior" group in case you were wondering.) Neat, huh? Essentially, I get to proudly wear my CEP compression gear as an ambassador for the brand and connect with other athletes through various media like my blog, Twitter and Facebook.
So no, this doesn't mean I'll be on the Canadian Olympic team or on the front of a box of Wheaties or anything but this Super Mom Extraordinaire and Running Addict feels pretty honoured to be included in such great company.
I hope you'll continue to follow along - you can find out more about the CEP brand and Team CEP Canada 2013 by following myself and the other athletes on the Team as well as by checking out #rockyourCEP and #TeamCEPCanada2013 on Twitter.
